THE FIRST STEP
Recognizing the emergence of Human Resource Management as a distinct discipline such as Medicine, Law or Engineering, the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM) was founded in 1959 by a small group of professionals with the objective of developing and promoting the profession of personnel management.
The Institute was subsequently incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1976.
From its humble beginnings, IPM has become the leading authority on Human Resources in Sri Lanka, making significant contributions to the development and nurturing of the Human Resource Management profession.
Through the years, IPM has adapted to many changes and developments within the profession, remaining committed to upholding the highest standards and best practices.
In addition to catering to needs of the Membership, IPM conducts a wide range of professional courses which include the prestigious National Diploma in Human Resource Management, now upgraded as the Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management.
AND NOW. . .
IPM Sri Lanka is a member of the Organization of Professional Associations in Sri Lanka, as well as a member of the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management through which the Institute is affiliated to the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA).
